Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has had a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since that period of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an better serving game.

The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a final set.

The opponent saved four initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
